Welcome to the Shafter Elementary PTO!
We are a diverse group of families, teachers, and school staff members joining together to build a solid foundation for our school community. We are focused is on fostering a spirit of ’Ohana by developing the connected social support systems within our community groups. Our goal is to work with parents, teachers, administration, and community members in order to increase family engagement with our school and develop a closer connection between school and home. We feel that this connection will have a positive impact on the education and social development of the students at Shafter Elementary School.
Shafter students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and over 95% of our students are from military families. We are aware that family support networks can be spread thin while you are stationed far away from “home”. The Shafter PTOhana is here to help you transition into your new school, support you and your student throughout your years at Shafter by promoting open communication between families and staff members, and to provide educational enrichment programs to our students.
Our PTO is able to enhance and support the educational experience in and out of the classroom at Shafter Elementary School through the dedication of our amazing volunteers and through financial support from occasional fundraising. We look forward to getting to know you better and working with you and your family this school year.

Mission Statement
The purpose of this PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience in and out of the classroom at Shafter Elementary School primarily through volunteer and financial support, fostering a spirit of cooperation, coordinating educational enrichment opportunities, and promoting open communication between families and staff of the school. The PTO’s mission is to work with parents, teachers, administration, and community members in order to increase family engagement and develop a closer connection between school and home, thereby making a positive impact on the education and social development of the students at Shafter Elementary School.

PTO Meetings are held monthly at 6:00pm on Zoom and at the Shafter Elementary School Library.

Zoom Registration information is sent by email, text, and flyers sent home from the school. Please contact your child's teacher or our school office if you are not receiving occasional texts and emails regarding your student's school events.
